Mayfield Environmental Solutions is an MBE/DBE General Contractor in California with decades of experience in environmental analysis in the most toxic environments, ranging from fire disasters to Superfunds/CRCLA to sensitive wetlands and waterways.
Unlike our competitors, we have more licenses than any contractors in the state, allowing us to manage and safely work in IDLH (Immediate Danger to Life and Health) environments and those around radioactive decay. We are fully licensed, certified fit-tested, HAZWOPER certified, and trained for Level B/Supplied Air labor to safely work around NORM (Naturally-Occuring Radioactive Materials), TENORM (Technologically-Enhanced), Radiological/X-Ray devices and radiological equipment, and more.
As needed, this includes use of Geiger counters, dosimeters, and more for proper NORM surveys, compliance, sampling, and documentation for your project. We can help with radiation studies and radio-nuclide monitoring to help with Environmental Impact Studies and regulations from the EPA, DTSC, the California Department of Energy, and California Department of Public Health.
We are licensed Medical Waste Transporters through California Dept of Public Health (#7097), so we are your active responders for Chemotherapy-related services, MRI- and radiography-related waste, oncology waste, and more.
We are also experts for soil sampling, air monitoring, and surface wipe sampling for anything from Caesium, to Tritium, to Radium, to other radioactive materials whether your project involves medical equipment, MRI machines, or nuclear reactors.
We also have the certifications to work on all levels of projects including federal, military, tribal/Native, prisons, and more through our Federal licensure (SAM/8A/GSA) and Public Works and Native American MBE/DBE status. This lets us work at nuclear facilities, power plants, hospitals, and more.
The typical route is to hire Industrial Hygienists. The problem is that Industrial Hygienists typically have little to no training or experience in HAZMAT or advanced chemistry. Protect yourself with Mayfield and hire actual HAZMAT engineers and chemists to help assess your project.
We are also licensed experts in Radon Gas Monitoring. Radon is America’s #2 leading cause of Lung Cancer and is in every home. Click here to see how Radon enters your home. Despite being colorless, odorless, and physically undetectable, Uranium breaks down in the soils under your house and develops into “Radon Daughters” like Lead and Polonium that embed in your lungs via dust particles. This exposes your family to Gamma and Alpha Radiation over time. We have independent Indoor Environmental Professionals (IEP) on call for third-party analysis and clearance verification.
We have Radon Measurement Professionals (RMPs) on staff who are licensed through the NRPP-AARST (#114310-RMP), California Department of Public Health, and Environmental Consultants and Affiliates association for both residential and commercial radon detection, monitoring, and mitigation in both soil and air quality. This includes, as needed, the use of Continuous Radon Monitors (CRMs), Alpha Trackers, E-Perms devices, ion Electrets, carbon canisters, and more.
