Serving California, Federal/State/Military/Tribal, and Palisades/Eaton Fire Zones
We are Southern California MBE/DBE General Engineering contractors licensed for work in all hazardous environments in both a commercial and residential setting. We are the ONLY company licensed for all comprehensive solutions for all HAZMAT, Biohazard, labor, and transport services at all levels, be it Public Works, Federal/Tribal, police/DEA, commercial or residential. We are experts in contaminated soil removal and soil stabilization, especially for hydrocarbons, TPH, PAH, PFAS, Perchlorate (PERC), and Vinyl Chloride.
Over the past several decades, California has increasingly regulated soil quality as a step towards development and construction. Depending on the level of contamination following soil testing, contaminated soil must either be treated in-situ with soil vapor extraction and other methods, or exported via manifest to a HAZMAT landfill. When these options pose a risk to produce leachate runoff and violate Water Board, AQMD, or DTSC permitting, soil stabilization is a critical step for contaminated soil management.
While these interventions are usually directed under permit by regulators, we have used a variety of options for soil stabilization ranging from mycoremediation, to bioencapsulation, to soil additives. We are also experts in PFAS soil remediation. Call the Mayfield HAZMAT team to make it happen.
Most often, soil stabilization involves injecting soil additives such as soda ash to bentonite clay to specialized soil selections that harden viscous soils. Mycoremediation involves us using mushroom mycelia substrates to contaminated soil to breakdown pollutants and stabilize loose soil. While this is experimental and largely unproven in the field, it has been most effective against heavy metals and more recently PFAS (Forever Chemicals). Bioencapsulation is another option we’ve used that involves injecting natural enzymes and organisms into the contaminated soil to slowly diminish hydrocarbon chains and recycle contaminated materials.
